Honorable Mention recipient for the 2010 Mutual of America Community Partnership Award

The Community Partnership Award honors the contributions that non-profit organizations , in partnership with public, private, and other social sector organizations, make to society. To date, 140 organizations have been honored. The Mutual of America Foundation seeks to expand public awareness of their work, and help them attract additional partners and new sponsors. These are non-profits that are "making a difference that will last a lifetime."

The Albert Sussman International Community Support Award, given by the International Council of Shopping Centers Foundation, was developed to recognize a shopping center or shopping center company for coordinating outstanding humanitarian service in its community. In 2008, the ICSC Foundation elevated the Award to new heights. Rather than an application process, winners of national Community Support Awards worldwide are automatically entered into the competition. The Simon Property Group/Simon Youth Foundation partnership first won the Community Support Award for the Central region of the North American competition, then went on to win the U.S. award to became a candidate for, and winner of, the Sussman Award.


On June 30, 2008, the Education Commission of the States (ECS), a national organization created to improve public education, honored us for our sustained commitment to, and substantial investment in, improving public education in the United States. Members of the ECS include Governors, state superintendents of public schools, and five other individuals including school and community leaders from 49 states, three territories and the District of Columbia.



The Crystal Star Award of Excellence in Dropout Recovery, Intervention and Prevention was presented to us on November 9, 2008 by the National Dropout Prevention Center/Network (NDPC/N). The purpose of the award is to identify and bring national recognition to outstanding dropout prevention programs that have made significant contributions to the advancement of the mission of the NDPN. In addition, the ERC program was named an "Exemplary Program" by the NDPC/N in 2009.



The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Business Civic Leadership Center’s Partnership Award is part of BCLC’s annual Corporate Citizenship Awards competition, and recognizes a company and charitable organization for addressing an important social issue. Our partnership with CVS Caremark to offer job- and life-skills training and internships to our ERC students was selected as a finalist for the 2008 Award.
